Bonus with early Bohemia is eventually getting an electorate for yourself rather than just a vote. You want the HRE as fractured as possible before Landfriede, and 3+ electorates under your direct control.Ī lot of the rest of your game falls into 'general Austria strategy' such as RM'ing and forcing PU on Bohemia within the first 5 years, expanding into Italy and swapping to Lombard culture for later tag change (Italy is superior to Austria past the mid-game, and has great Emperor perks as well). You also want to vassalize (via military at first, diplo once you start getting huge) electors, annex them, then grant electorate to OPMs you brought back to life - you get 10 IA for granting an electorate, and the reborn OPMs will already like you, thus tend to vote for you, plus be susceptible to diplo-vassalization themselves.
Hence why I said if that's all you care about doing, then going Protestant saves you the IA losses.įor most of the early game you should be constantly warring against HRE members who annex others, so you get IA from releasing the OPMs that got killed.
